Summary
This report is part of a larger study looking at how marine protected areas have contributed to poverty reduction at four different sites in four countries. Between November 2006 and May 2007, the study team conducted almost 1,000 household interviews and many group discussions in Fiji, the Solomon Islands, Indonesia and the Philippines. The data and information collected were focused on determining if the marine protected area had contributed to poverty reduction, and if so, why. This country report is one of four and provides input for a synthesis report combining the results from the four study sites.
